Heli Academy Student passes PPL(H) Skill Test with minimum required Training Time utilizing the Loft Dynamics R22 Simulator

SITTERDORF and ZURICH, March 22, 2023 - Tino Caspar learned the basics of helicopter flying on the Loft Dynamics Robinson R22 FNPT II. He was able to benefit from this advantage and completed the training with exactly the minimum required 45 hours, all while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. Congratulations on this outstanding success!

Learn on the Simulator - Apply in the Helicopter

With Tino's success, the concept of learning and consolidating basic maneuvers on the Loft Dynamics simulator was proven by passing his PPL(H) exam at the EASA defined minimum required training time. Tino is the first trainee of Heli Academy to complete the credited 5 hours on the flight school's own EASA qualified Robinson R22 virtual reality training device (FNPT II). Loft Dynamics could already prove the concept in a scientific research project together with the Centre of Aviation of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, which showed that maneuvers learned on the simulator can be applied with the same performance level in the helicopter. "This is not only a milestone for the Heli Academy but also for the Loft Dynamics team. It confirms the high quality of our simulators," says Fabi Riesen, CEO of Loft Dynamics.

Well-balanced and Efficient Training with even an increase of Flight Safety

The training was led by Heli Academy flight instructor Andy Gafner. The concentrated and disciplined cooperation between the flight instructor and trainee was also a basis for the positive outcome and is essential for the high quality of the training. This simulator training has the advantage of providing students with faster and safer training, enabling them to reach the required proficiency level more efficiently. "The success shows that the simulator can make a significant contribution to good, efficient, and cost-effective training and also enables exercises that are not possible on the real helicopter for risk reasons. We are glad to offer such state-of-the-art flight training to our pilots," comments Max Sartory, CEO and owner of Heli Academy.
