A smaller, more affordable VR helicopter flight simulator from the Swiss start-up has taken off in Europe and is on track for FAA approval—turning a passion project into a paradigm shift.

The Loft Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) allows pilots to practice routine, abnormal and emergency procedures efficiently, especially the critical maneuvers of autorotations and instrument flying. No time is squandered on fueling, warm-ups, and flight time in transit to training areas, which also reduces the cost of training.

FOX Business correspondent Kelly O'Grady joins 'The Big Money Show' to discuss what it was like to fly Loft Dynamics's virtual reality flight simulator.

The challenge for the latest episode of Hello World was this: Could I go to Zurich, sit in a newfangled flight simulator for an hour or so and then fly a helicopter the next day through the Swiss Alps? Mind you, I’ve never flown one before. Also, doesn’t this seem like a bad idea?

A small Swiss technology startup has been chosen to rethink how helicopter pilots are trained in the US with VR headsets. The FAA will evaluate the techology in flight simulators for the first time, taking delivery of systems from Zurich-based Loft Dynamics. CEO Fabi Riesen joins Caroline Hyde and Ed Ludlow on "Bloomberg Technology."

Investor and entrepreneur Sky Dayton provides insight on a new virtual reality pilot training on 'The Claman Countdown.'

Loft Dynamics, a Swiss startup creating virtual reality (VR) simulation technology for helicopter pilots, has raised $20 million in funding from U.S. venture capital (VC) firms, including David Sacks’ Craft Ventures, Sky Dayton and Up Partners.

"Schweiz aktuell" tried out the world's first virtual flight school simulator for small helicopters in Stettbach. Host Sabine Dahinden puts it to the test.
